How can we use people, and local assets to make Wolverhampton a better place?

In 2011 Wolverhampton's Central Youth Theatre staged a large Cultural Olypiad festival called Everybody Dance Now which celebrated some of the iconic dance halls and clubs that had existed in W.ton from the 20's through the 1970's. As part of this project we turned the former Low Level railway station into a ballroom. We are seeking to stage a similar project in 2013, but this time recreating the interior of iconic shops and market stalls that have existed in Wolverhampton. The project would include an exhibition trail and also performance work based on the memoires of local people. We want the project to bring some vibrancy back to the City Centre and a sense of pride in what was once a busy shopping centre. We would welcome the input of other artistis and local people in developing up this idea
