Wasting water costs money. Set up a new 'socent' to retrofit saving devices.
Homes and businesses are wasting water yet we have droughts on a regular basis? The financial savings are clear but small (although will add up over time), so many users will not commit to investing the time and money needed. Some basic plumbing skills, knowledge of the solutions and a friendly approach are all that would be needed to solve this problem one home or business at a time. This could therefore be set up as a social enterprise and used to bring people back into work. A fee would need to be charged for the service but this could be kept low so that it is recovered in the first year. Alternately an arrangement could be made with the water company so that tyhey pay the fee based on savings made?
